What is Wire Sawing?
Wire sawing is a cost-effective concrete cutting and demolition solution. It is the best concrete cutting solution for large and heavy reinforced concrete structures and other materials like reinforced rebar, steel, and stone. Since virtually no structure is too large to cut, wire sawing is used where other concrete cutting methods are not viable. In addition, wire sawing’s flexibility allows it to be used in small, hard-to-access spaces.
Wire Sawing Applications
Reinforced concrete
Dams
Controlled demolition
Bridges
Heavy rebar and steel
Piers
Underwater structures

The Wire Sawing Process
A wire saw consists of a multi-strand diamond embedded steel cable. It is run through guided pulleys to cut with directional precision hard materials through abrasion. To start the cutting process, the cable is threaded through the pulley system by an operator and wrapped around the object to be cut. When the system is turned on, the pulleys pull the wire while keeping tension on the cable until the cutting job is completed.
Benefits of Wire Sawing
Flexibility—Can cut through a greater variety of materials than other conventional methods of cutting
Cutting Versatility—Cuts in any direction, angle, and depth
Precision—Provides precise final cuts
Cost-Effective—Less manpower costs. Manual operation is not needed once the system is set up and running
Quiet—It is vibration-fee and quieter than any other sawing method—it is best for work around schools, hospitals, and other noise-free zones
Safety—With less operator involvement it is safer to operate
Environmentally Friendly—creates less waste and does not produce air dust
Quality Services
If you need Wire Sawing services, make sure to ask the following questions of the providers you are considering:
How long have you been in business?
What is the brand of equipment you are using?
What is the training process for your operators?
What safety precautions will you take to prevent damage to adjacent areas?
What precautions will you take to avoid operator injury?
Do you have references?
